Jerald Thomas has been awarded a CRA/CCC Computing Innovation Postdoctoral Fellowship! He will be starting in January at Virginia Tech under the mentorship of Doug Bowman.

Courtney Hutton Pospick has been selected as a 2020-2021 Achievement Rewards for College Scientists (ARCS) Foundation Scholar! The award is made to graduate-level scholars who have high scholastic records and have been identified for their potential to have a great impact on advancing science in their fields.

Mahdi Azmandian received Honorable Mention for the 2019 IEEE VGTC Virtual Reality Best Dissertation Award! This award is presented each year to the author of the most outstanding Ph.D. dissertation, defended during the preceding two calendar years, in the broad areas of virtual and augmented reality.

Congratulations to Chih-Fan Chen, who presented his research on “Rapid Creation of Photorealistic Virtual Reality Content with Consumer Depth Cameras” and passed his Ph.D. dissertation defense!
